The Maryborough Harness Racing Club is renowned for its regular race meetings and annual Gold Cup and Redwood Carnival. Now with new management and a new committee, the Club hopes to become a venue of choice for a variety of events and festivals throughout the region.

General manager, Jackson Barby (pictured), hopes to build on the success of the recent racing season, with increased prize money, fashion on the field and a sold-out dinner dance.

“We’ve developed a strategic plan which is a bold and progressive vision for the next three years at the Club. Included in that are some initiatives which we’re hoping attracts different audiences,” he said.

While harness racing will remain the core focus, with its spacious function rooms, fully equipped kitchen and bar facilities, the Club is able to cater for other events, such as the upcoming rodeo, Chopped, Weekend with Hooks or private events such as weddings and birthdays.
