Cottage stay in Avoca
1 min read

Deb and Pete’s first introduction to Avoca was when they saw Avoca Cottages advertised for sale. The couple had always thought about moving to the country, and the cottages presented the ideal opportunity to make the move.

“When we saw the Cottages for sale we visited Avoca a few times,” Deb said.

“We thought the town was lovely, and not too far away from our children and grandchildren. We have not regretted our decision at all.”

While the couple has certainly been busy adjusting to life as accommodation providers, it has proved a welcome change from their previous workday commitments. Deb ran her own labour hire/security firm and Pete has background in the motoring industry.

Since officially taking over the business in November last year, Deb said they have been surprised at how quickly they have settled in.

“The people within the town have been very welcoming,” she said.

“And it is great to meet people from all walks of life and hearing how much they enjoy staying here.”

“We love our backyard, it’s fantastic being able to work where we live. One of our favourite things to do sit on the viewing platform of an evening watching the sunset and feeding the kookaburras.”
