Sweet spot for Talbot.
1 min read

The return of Sunday markets to the region is a positive sign that Covid lockdowns are well and truly behind us.

For stall holders such as Greta Donaldson  from Bendigo Brittle, markets represent more than just the chance to sell her wares. The Talbot market in particular holds a special place in Greta’s heart.

“There is something about Talbot market that is lovely,” Greta said.

“I think it’s that the locals as well as the visitors really get behind the stall holders and want us to succeed. It’s well-run and attracts a great mix of people”

What started as a family Christmas treat made from her grandmother’s recipe has become so popular that Greta has given up the nine-to-five grind to concentrate on making nutty brittle. Greta’s sweet treats are a favourite among market goers, and she said during lockdown many of her regular customers still bought her products online.

“Nothing can beat chatting face-to-face with customers at markets, but from those meetings many have now found us online, which is terrific,” Greta said.
