Burnt Creek Cemetery - Previously known as Boot Hill Cemetery (1845-1855) and Graveyard Hill Cemetery (1855-1863). A small cemetery approximately 200 m east of Dunolly Transfer Station. As well as registered burials it also features a number of bush graves marked by stones, mounds, or soil depressions.
Amherst Cemetery - Established in 1859 and still in use today, it exists as a relic of the former gold rush township of Amherst.
Pennyweight Flat Children’s Cemetery – Established in 1852 to provide burial grounds for babies and children who died as a result of life on the Castlemaine goldfields.
Vaughn Chinese Cemetery - Established during the great Mount Alexander gold rush of the early 1850s, this small cemetery features the graves of Chinese miners as well as a few European burials.
Maldon Cemetery – Reserved in 1861 and gazetted in 1878, this is an excellent example of an intact gold rush era cemetery that’s still in use today.
