Luxe accommodation attracting tourists
1 min read

Opulent, elegant and unique, Gilbert by Whiskey June in Maryborough has already garnered an exceptional rating and multiple positive reviews since opening in May. Guests are raving about the luxury getaway on both Airbnb and Bookings.com. Owners David Graham and Simon Thomson are thrilled with the result and love hearing the feedback.

“We’ve had around 90 percent occupancy rate every week since we opened and some guests have already booked multiple stays,” David said.

“We are really excited that many guest are booking after recommendations from locals. We knew we had created something very special here in Maryborough so we are overjoyed that our visitors feel the same way.

“We are excited to start working on our next property ‘Ruby by Whiskey June’ which we will be launching in the new year.”

As opposed to busier tourist centres, visitors are making the most of exploring Maryborough’s local attractions without needing to elbow past the crowds or circle the block to get a car park.

“This town is so beautiful and largely untapped as a getaway destination,” David explains.

“Our standard of accommodation at Whiskey June is drawing across new visitors who would have previously only visited surrounding locations. Here, they can wander through town, enjoy beautiful food, shop for local produce and wares at the local markets and still be within striking distance of major tourist attractions and events.”
