Trentham recruit Sam Winnard played his best game to date this season when he kicked 14 goals in the 234-point drubbing of Maryborough Rovers on Saturday.

It was a tough day at the office for Rovers as the ball was consistently heading towards Trentham’s goals with 57 scoring shots to eight.

The Saints averaged just under nine goals a quarter and Winnard was on the end of many forward entries and despite kicking truly 14 times he was also involved in handing off many more.

The Saints'other two key forwards Jake Keogh and Cooper Webber-Mirkin also slotted four goals apiece in the demolition job.

While Rovers have improved greatly in season 2023, this was by far their toughest result of the campaign up to this point, and will now look to bounce back this week against Talbot, while Trentham now look ahead to a big clash with fellow undefeated team Harcourt.

Trentham’s better players were Winnard, Joel Cowan, Harrison Knight, Mark Strickland, Benjamin Curran, and Keogh.

Rovers’ better players were Dylan Evans, Bailey Evans, Alex Mahony, Jacob Dyer, Kieran Johns and Trent Monk.
