Carisbrook’s resident walker Will Jennings is once again putting his best foot forward this month, taking part in his fifth May 50K fundraiser.
The annual fundraiser, organised by MS Research Australia, raises money to support life-changing research into multiple sclerosis.
It’s a cause close to home for 14-year-old Will, who’s aunty was diagnosed with the condition some years ago.
He said it’s a reminder for him to keep pushing towards the goal of walking 50 kilometres in May, even when he might not feel like it.
“It is something I look forward to every year,” he said.
“It makes me feel good to do something like this.
“I’m doing it to raise money for MS research and when I don’t feel like doing it because it’s cold or dark, I just focus on why I’m doing it in the first place.”
Friends and family have been quick to jump on board and donate, with Will having raised just under $300 so far after a mammoth fundraising effort last year which saw $1600 donated to MS Research Australia.
