Tuesday’s wet weather forced a cancellation of the second round of the midweek pennant, with eight of the nine teams receiving eight points.
It was frustration for Talbot, who have yet to play their first game of the season after having the bye in round one, while Carisbrook were another team to be frustrated, given they were due to be playing their first home game on their new bowling greens.
Brook were due to play Maryborough Golf, while Dunolly Gold were due to play Talbot. Highland Gold and Highland Tartan were also due to meet, while Avoca and Dunolly Blue were also scheduled.
Newstead had the bye, and received no points relative to their competition as a result.
The cancellation of the competition means that reigning champions Dunolly Blue currently leads the competition from Golf and Highland Tartan.
