Wallis goes unbeaten
Highland’s Leanne Wallis has had a strong representative campaign, helping the Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields region going unbeaten in the 2024 women’s Provincial Shield.

The Bendigo Campaspe Goldfields (BCG) region were winners in both the men’s and women’s competition, played against Wimmera, Ballarat Highlands and Geelong.
Wallis’ first game was against Wimmera, paired with Colleen Maslen, Anna King and Susan Howes in the fours competition, and the quartet delivered handsomely with a 19-8 victory.
That allowed BCG to take a 78-31 victory to start their competition with a big win.
Their next game against the Ballarat Highlands was closer, with the team needing all of their bowls skills to manage a 16-15 victory, while BCG were able to take a 64-48 win overall.
The final game against Geelong was a tight one for the BCG region, but Wallis and her rink did their job, sweeping the day with a 13-9 victory.
BCG, in the end, took a 47-45 win over Geelong.
