V/Line appoint CEO with regional expansion focus
V/Line has appointed a new CEO, William Tieppo, while emphasising a focus on expanding the regional train and coach network.

According to last week’s announcement, Mr Tieppo enters the role with more than two decades in the transport sector.
His resume includes major infrastructure projects to experience with V/Line and the City of Greater Geelong.
The announcement came with a promise, according to Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams, that Mr Tieppo’s appointment would help grow the network.
“Mr Tieppo brings extensive leadership experience to V/Line that will help Victoria’s regional train and coach network continue to grow, delivering more services and better connectivity for regional passengers,” she said.
“I congratulate Will on his appointment as CEO and thank Warwick for his leadership through-out his time acting in the role.”
It was a sentiment echoed by V/Line board chair Gabrielle Bell.
“We look forward to welcoming Will Tieppo into V/Line as we continue our focus on delivering high quality services on one of the worlds’ fastest growing regional rail networks,” she said.
The emphasis on regional service availability may hit home for locals who have historically pushed for more services on the Maryborough line.
It’s an issue member for Ripon Martha Haylett said is particularly important.
“Regional rail connects our communities to job opportunities, education, health appointments, and more,” she said.
“I’m so proud to have helped deliver more weekend train services on the Maryborough line but I know there is more to do and I will fight for more frequent services in future.”
Warwick Horsley will continue as acting CEO until Mr Tieppo begins in the role on August 25.
