Event distances were a 400 m swim, 20 km ride and 4 km run for the long course event, and a 200 m swim, 8 km ride and 2 km run for the short course athletes.

In the Open Male long course, it was local triathlete Josh Britten and Bendigo-based triathlete Tyler Beale who tackled the course.

Britten produced another outstanding performance in the pool to open up a lead moving into the 20 km cycle leg.

Beale was also displaying improved swimming and cycling form, as both triathletes prepared for the 4 km run leg.

Britten was able to maintain his lead however, and crossed the finish line in 64:47 to take first place, wiping nearly five minutes off his November time in the same event.

Tyler maintained his improved form to the finish line as well, posting 74:50 to take second place, also wiping nearly five minutes off his October time.

Jane Anderson, fresh off her successful 2025 Busselton Ironman performance, also found the long course to her liking, especially the 20 km cycle leg, posting the winning time of 83:38 in the 50+ Female category.

In the short course, Sophie Mark combined a strong cycle and run performance to cross the finish line in 39:29 to win the Open Female category.

With the traditional summer triathlon season approaching, the club invites all experienced and budding triathletes to come along and participate, either as an individual or combine with others as a team, in its next long course Triathlon from the Maryborough Sports & Leisure Centre on Sunday, February 8.

Long course (400 m swim, 20 km ride and 4 km run) and short course (200 m swim, 8 km ride and 2 km run) distances will be available for participating athletes.
