Trentham have made it three wins in a row to start the season, but not without a terrific fight from Campbells Creek.
The Magpies have seemingly cemented themselves as one of the improvers of the 2023 season, but have just one win to show for it in the opening three rounds.
Trentham started off the better on Saturday, scoring nine goals to seven in the first quarter to hold a two-goal lead.
In a high-scoring second quarter, both teams were firing in attack, with the Saints scoring 15 goals, while Creek added 14 of their own. It meant that the Saints held a narrow 24-21 lead at the break.
The third quarter was a tight one as neither side could take control, instead going on a goal-for-goal run which saw both teams score 10 goals each, leaving Trentham still three goals in front at the last change.
While Campbells Creek tried desperately to get back into the game, they could not shake off Trentham’s dogged defence and instead, it was another goal for goal affair as it was throughout the afternoon, with Trentham holding on for a four-goal win.
Trentham had a great spread of variety in their goalscorers, with Zahlia Turton (17), Sharna Ford (16) and Hayley Bourke (12) all scoring above 12 goals, while Campbells Creek had a similar output from both Jordan Bagley and Lillie Wrigley, who scored 21 and 20 goals respectively.
