Trentham showed their class in recording a 124-point win against Royal Park.
While Royal Park were unable to kick a goal last week, it was also a game where Bushy had played many players who doubled up from the reserves and under 17s.
This week, however, Bushy were up for the fight in the opening quarter, splitting the first four goals of the game with the Saints and proving to be plucky.
But Trentham were able to still hold a 13-point lead at the first change, having had 11 scoring shots to three.
The second quarter saw the Saints rectify their bad kicking in front of goal. Having kicked 3.8 in the first quarter, they responded with eight goals from 10 scoring shots.
Bushy were still very much having a crack, kicking two goals themselves, but it wasn’t enough to prevent them from trailing by 48 points at the main break.
Trentham were gradually taking control of the game, and kicked another eight goals in the third quarter, while holding Bushy to another two goals to increase the margin to 88 points at the final change.
The last quarter saw the Saints completely dominate affairs, but were again inaccurate, scoring five goals from 11 attempts. But they held Bushy scoreless to eventually finish 124-point winners.
Cooper Webber-Mirkin was a dominant force up forward, kicking eight goals. He has relished becoming the main option under Clive Raak, which has seen last year’s centurion Jake Keogh move further up the ground.
Keogh, for his part, still finished with four goals and was among the best, alongside Joel Cowan, Joel Dovaston, Samuel Winnard and Nathan Rodgers.
The young brigade for Royal Park continued to give their all for the club during the afternoon, with Lachlan Bates, Jack Broad and Riley Govan among the best, as well as Samuel Ploeger, Rhys Egan and Rhys Wagstaff.
