It was a difficult day for Maryborough Soccer Club, with top team Vikings FC putting 10 goals past them at St Georges.
It wasn’t an ideal start for Maryborough when Brandon Bosher put Vikings ahead after two minutes, before adding another in the 19th minute.
Maryborough were given hope when Seng Ngim got one back in the 22nd minute.
But a goal to Kuanyjal Tuany, followed by Bosher completing his hattrick, meant that Maryborough were down 4-1 in the 33rd minute.
A late goal to John Aziawor in the 45th minute meant that Maryborough had it all to do in the second half, down 5-1 at the break.
Unfortunately, Maryborough were unable to make any inroads, despite their best efforts.
Two goals to Liam Dawson and Zak McAninly, as well as Tuany’s second, meant that Vikings were too good on the day, winning 10-1.
Maryborough now have the bye in round seven, but will look for their first win of the season in round eight against winless Daylesford.
