A six-goal third quarter was the key for Trentham to continue their unbeaten start to the season, taking a 33-point victory over Dunolly at Deledio Reserve.

The Saints started the better of the two teams, kicking the only two goals of the first quarter to take a 13-point lead into the first change.

But the Eagles played some inspired footy in the second quarter, and it could be considered one of their best in years, kicking five goals while holding the Saints goalless, to take a 16-point lead into the main break.

But the Saints came out breathing fire after letting their lead slip, and six goals to one in the third quarter saw them take control of the game, holding a 21-point cushion into the final change.

In a high-scoring final quarter, the Saints again kicked six goals, while the Eagles added four, to eventually take their win.

Joel Cowan has been a star for Trentham in the early stages of the season, and he again stood up when the Saints needed him most. Alongside him, Harrison Knight, Nathan Rodgers, Mark Strickland and Ryan Thiesz were their better players, while Jake Keogh was another match winner, kicking six goals.

For Dunolly, Lachlan Tranter, playing-coach Bailey Goodwin, Nathan Murphy, Riley Murphy, Lloyd Needs and Jake Willcocks were their better players.
