Team Lazaros enjoys more success

On the weekend, six com-petitors from Team Lazaros BJJ and Muay Thai traveled to Adelaide for the South Australian Jiu Jitsu state championships.

Seven year old Marlee Jez won the gold medal in the eight year old girls white belt 33.2 kg division, and in the boys 12 year old 56 kg white belt division, Harvey Mitchell won the silver and Cruz Walker won bronze while being 20 plus kilogramg lighter than everyone else in his division.

Bibby Montague won a gold medal in the teens 14 year old, under 56 kg, white belt division, with an impressive eight second arm bar submission and another 33 second submission.

Nicholas Dan won silver in the male gi adults 88 kg division and bronze in the male adults no gi 85 kg division.

Alayla Savvidis secured another gold medal to add to her gold medals from the Nationals, Victoria, NSW, Western Australia and now South Australia.

This puts Alayla 29 points away from the number one spot for 2024.

The club were also in the top five best kids team on the day, competing against 16 other teams.
