Tartan booked their spot in the season finale after a gripping 67-62 victory against Dunolly Blue.

It was a topsy-turvy affair, with all three results happening throughout the match.

Gregory Shay got Highland Tartan the first rink, defeating Tony Galofaro 25-18 while Garry Coburn and Chris Williams’ rink ended in a stalemate, drawing 23-23.

While Alan Weir would put the final rink in the ledger of Dunolly Blue, his 21-19 victory over Michael Fryar wasn’t enough to turn the match in Dunolly Blue’s favour.

Maryborough Golf kept their season alive, taking a comfortable victory against Talbot 71-41 to set up a date with Dunolly Blue.

Maryborough Golf started the contest strongly with Elizabeth Bucknall prevailing over Chris Crossley 24-13 and Graeme Orr holding on in a suspenseful 19-18 win against Ray Prentice.

Kort Gay completed the sweep for Maryborough Golf, overcoming Barbara Crossley 28-10 to eliminate Talbot.

After finishing in fifth last season, Maryborough Golf has made some massive improvements this season and has competed well against the league’s heavyweights.

Dunolly Blue will be confident they can return for a grand final rematch against Highland Tartan, defeating Maryborough Golf in both meetings this season.
