Talbot take care of Avoca with 65-point victory
Talbot showed they can handle any conditions, defeating Avoca by 10 goals in extremely wet and slippery conditions at Avoca on Saturday.

It did not stop raining all day at Avoca Public Park, making ball movement much more difficult throughout the match.
Talbot took advantage of the dry ball in the opening term with 13 shots on goal to two, resulting in six goals and seven behinds from the Hawks to set up their 10-goal victory.
The Bulldogs were more competitive after the opening term, but Talbot still led at half time by 53 points, and with the ground conditions being wet and slippery, the game was well and truly in the Hawks’ keeping.
Avoca would be pleased with their competitiveness and spirit in which they played in the second half, holding the Hawks to just five goals and four behinds while kicking
three goals and four behinds themselves.
It was a great battle in the final term in particular, both teams were hard at the ball and found it difficult to control.
Jamieson House goaled at the 15-minute mark for the Hawks, which was instantly answered by an amazing snap shot from the boundary from Avoca’s Zack Lubeek, much to the delight of the Bulldogs supporters under the shelter of the pavilion.
Avoca’s Byron Wynd had a great tussle in the final term with Jarrod Stephens, and had the upper hand until right on the final siren, when Stephens gathered the loose ball from a marking contest and snapped a left-foot goal over his shoulder to make it five goals for the match.
Talbot’s better players were House, Stephens, Josh Britten, Adam Scott, Mitchell Webb and Zac Cicchini.
Avoca named Tyson Gray, Alex Bowd, Wynd, Lubeek, Alex Riches and Matt Wardlaw.
