Talbot send shockwaves with 260-point demolition
The Talbot Hawks have breezed home against Campbells Creek to the tune of 260 points, headlined by a 10-goal haul by Jarrod Stephens.

The Hawks came charging out of the gates, immediately setting the tone for the match ahead — one of control and domination, kicking 9.8 to Creek’s 0.0 to establish an all but impenetrable 62 point lead.
To Campbells Creek’s merit, they did show defiance in the second quarter, booting their first and only major for the game while containing a merciless Talbot to their lowest scoring quarter, adding 45 points to the tally.
This, combined with the half time break, seemed to ignite a fire in the Hawks’ belly, as a third quarter filled with constant ball control and aggression across the forward line almost doubled their score, catapulting them from 107 points to 196 in just 20 minutes.
Talbot’s onslaught continued into the final quarter, with the home side working like a well oiled machine to kick 11 goals and five behinds, showing no mercy to the visiting Creek who, despite the scoreline, fought hard all day, adding a single behind to end the match.
Stephens, Dean Galea and Trent Barras had a ripper game in the forward 50, kicking 10, seven and five goals respectively, as well as Jude McGuire with four of his own.
Stephens’ performance solidified his position as one of the league’s most effective avenues to goal, now sitting in fourth overall with 52 goals this season.
His efforts, along with those of Victor Micallef, Charles Aitken, Tommy Alkemade, McGuire and Matthew York earned a mention in Talbot’s best players.
For Campbells Creek, it was the dogged determination of James Haber, James Martinovic, Judd Stevens, Joel Wootton, Harley Melrose and Mitch Stevens that were recognised for their continued efforts.
