Talbot make it five wins in a row versus Lexton
A magnificent 11 goals from Talbot key forward Jarrod Stephens set the stage for the Hawks to defeat the Lexton Tigers by 59 points, earning their fifth win on the trot.

Fresh off the bye last round and contending at the top of the table in the MCDFNL, the Hawks were very confident they could earn an away victory at Lexton Reserve.
However, the hosts were keen to prove themselves after their loss to the Maryborough Giants last week, keeping competitive with the visitors.
By the end of the first quarter, Talbot held a 15-point lead after a back-and-forth opening term.
Five goals to one in the second term was the catalyst for Talbot to take control of the contest, as ballwinners Jayden Hind, Charles Aitken and Jude McGuire gave plenty of chances for Stephens, where he often capitalise.
The Hawks took a 38-point lead into half time, looking to put the game to bed in the third quarter.
Lexton’s defence, led by Will Brand, Lachy Rokebrand and Thomas McGregor had other ideas, keeping the visitors to two goals in the third term.
Despite the trio’s fantastic defensive effort, the Tigers couldn’t decrease the margin, which stood at 39 points heading into the final break.
After absorbing Lexton’s best shots in the third quarter, Talbot kicked away in the fourth quarter, scoring four goals to one in the final term to remain as one of four teams tied on 40 points at the top of the ladder.
Stephens’ boots must have had a new shade of pink after Saturday’s 11-goal performance, an easy choice for Talbot’s best player.
Stephens was joined in the best players by Hind, Jamieson House, Kirk Lang, Aitken and Matthew York.
Brand was the standout in Lexton’s loss, leading the best players along with Reilly Sandlant, Blaire Ward, Pat Parr, Aiden Broughton and Matthew Smith-Bye.
After some struggles with goal-scoring last week against the Maryborough Giants, it was an encouraging sign to see Dylan Bourke, Broughton, Jordan Madafferi, Parr, Keltyn Rinaldi and Ward all get on the score sheet for the Tigers.
