Avoca were no match for a slick Natte Bealiba at Avoca on Saturday when the Swans won by a massive 138 points.

It was a hard fought first quarter as both teams played competitive football and the Bulldogs would have thought they were in with a chance, but it was not to be as the Swans kicked into gear from the second term to kick 20 more goals for the game, while the Bulldogs could only manage a solitary goal.

Natte kicked 13 goals in succession before Avoca goaled through Nathan Coghlan midway through the third quarter.

Avoca was chasing tail all afternoon as the Swans ran in numbers, breaking the lines with ease as Daniel Vadala set up a lot of the attacking moves as he ran the ball out of the back line, linking up with Jordan Fraser who used his pace to break through the middle of the ground and hit up the Swans forwards.

Will Holt kicked five goals for the Swans and Emmet Smith was roving at the bottom of the forward packs to slot six goals.

Jake Postle also showed signs that he will be a great asset for the Swans and pulled in a big grab to excite the crowd.

Some concern for Natte Bealiba was seeing star recruit, Jai Howell, leaving the ground with a concussion in an accidental collision, and not coming back onto the field, which will no doubt see him miss next week against Lexton.

Avoca showed glimpses in the opening term, but showed they have a lot to do to get ready for Talbot next week.

Avoca’s best were Sean Moyle, Scott Cawthan, Jaye Farnsworth, Darcy Carey and Riley Hamilton with four singular goal scorers in a tough opening to the season.

Natte’s best were Vadala, Holt, Smith, Fraser, and Aaron Hayes, with Holt, Smith, and Jayden Templeton scoring 15 goals between them in a dominant display.

Avoca get around Alexander Hay as he slots through the Bulldogs’ first goal of the season.
