Natte Bealiba warmed up for their big clash with Harcourt next week by taking care of Maryborough Rovers by 139 points.
It did take some time for Natte to warm up, having kicked three goals from nine scoring shots in the opening term, but regardless, they were able to hold Rovers scoreless to take a 24-point lead into the first break.
The Swans gradually started to shift gears from there, and were able to add four goals to two behinds to extend their lead to 51 points at the main break.
It was the third quarter where Natte really started to come into their own, kicking eight goals, while Rovers hit the scoreboard for the first time during the afternoon when they managed two goals through Jacob Plier and Kai Weller. Nevertheless, it didn’t stop the Swans from leading by 88 points at the final change.
The Swans continued on their merry way in the final term, kicking another eight goals while holding Rovers to a sole behind to eventually roar past the 100-point gap.
Jye Mortlock was unstoppable on his way to seven goals, and he was ably supported by Jordan Fraser, Jacob Long, Daniel Vadala, Jayden Templeton — who made a timely return just before finals with three goals, and Aaron Hayes.
Rovers have now negotiated their final away game ahead of their emotional final football game against Maldon next week. They were well-served by Marshall Murray, Kieran Johns, Alex Mahony, Chris Scragg, Bailey Evans and Plier.
