Maryborough’s Supreme Court Bar and Restaurant has been closed until further notice after structural issues were identified in the 153-year-old pub.
The building was erected in 1870 and has housed the current business for 10 years, however initial assessments of the building have led to its recommended closure.
“Over recent weeks there has been movement within the building foundations and throughout. Following initial assessments by a range of qualified experts, it has been deemed appropriate to close pending further investigation,” a statement from the Supreme read.
According to the business, at this stage it is unclear how long the closure will last, or the scope and costs required to repair the building.
More details to come as the repair investigation continues.
