Summer twilight netball season starts on Thursday
The Maryborough Netball Association Summer twilight season is set to kick off this Thursday, October 9, promoting the importance of social physical activity.
The association has seen some great numbers sign up for this year’s competition, with 27 teams entered across three sections — 15 and Under Mixed, Ladies Open, and Open Mixed.
The 15 and under competition is set to start at 5.30 pm, with Sassy Strikers playing the Black Panthers, Maryborough Pearls taking on Archie Perkins, Twilight Ignite facing off against Maryborough Lightning and Dunolly set to battle the Purple Unicorns.
Following the 15 and under’s will be the Ladies Open competition, set to start at 6.30 pm.
The opening round will see the All Stars play the Roseberry Rockets, the Goal Diggers pitted against The Goal-den girls, Vintage Vixens versus Mixens A, MFNC against Drop it like a Shot and a match between Dunolly and the Lady Redbacks closing out the opening round.
The Mixed Open section will finish the night, starting at 7.30 pm.
Round one will have Pretty in Pink taking on Hoop, there it is, Diamonds versus All Sorts, the Shot Takers against the Corella Options and Joan’s Jetts battling The Ducks.
Blue Thunder will enjoy the bye in the opening round.
All three sections will play eight rounds running until Thursday, December 4, with no games played on Thursday, November 20, due to Energy Breakthrough.
