Despite wet weather disrupting play throughout the week, Hedges Oval welcomed some of the best and brightest future cricketing stars for the Under 16 Female National Championship.

Play was due to start last Monday between Victoria Metro and New South Wales Country, however the game was called off before a ball was thrown due to rain.

ACT and Northern Territory were able to complete their game under clear blue skies the following day, with ACT claiming a tight victory by three wickets.

Hedges Oval hosted another game on Sunday between Victoria Country and New South Wales Metro.

Constant disruptions to play forced Victoria Country’s innings to be shortened to 20 overs, who were unable to reach their reduced Duckworth–Lewis–Stern method target, giving New South Wales Metro the win.
