Maryborough Soccer Club celebrated their season in style at the Maryborough Golf Club on Saturday night.

A terrific individual season from Garry George, which saw him score two goals across the midfield, saw him rewarded with the best and fairest, winning from young striker Julian Callea.

Brett Davy’s four goals was enough to see him win the golden boot award at the club as leading goalkicker, while Bayden Macintyre was a popular winner of the Players Player award after a big year as goalkeeper.

The club endured a difficult season, eventually going down to division two of the Ballarat District Soccer Association after winning just one game throughout the 2023 season.

However, a reset of the club has seen them unearth some good young talent across their senior team, as well as getting an under 13s team back up to play in the junior
