Royal Park defeated Avoca at Hedges Oval on Saturday by 23 points in very wet and slippery conditions.
Avoca kicked the first goal of the game through Nick Coghlan in his 150th game, but similarly to round one the Tigers fought back to kick the next eight goals in succession over the next two quarters. The Bulldogs did manage to gather some resistance though as they kicked four goals in succession to trail at half time by 22 points.
Hedges Oval was turned into a quagmire making it incredibly difficult to score in the second half as both teams could only score one goal each for the remainder of the game, but the Tigers were able to do enough to ensure they would take the four points, as they look to finish off the season strongly.
Luke Dunne was named as Royal Park’s best player, with Brad Reeves, Matt Walker, Rhys Egan, and Matt Davies all contributing to the victory.
Joel Antonio was again named a s Avoca’s best player, with Cameron Antonio, Jason Hunt, Nick Coghlan, Scott Cawthan and Rowan Andrews all giving their all in the muddy, slippery conditions.
