Loddon Mallee residents are being encouraged to voice their thoughts and concerns on hooning in the region as part of an online community engagement session.
Run by the Department of Transport and Planning, the session aims to gain an understanding of local perspectives on hooning in each Victorian region — the Loddon Mallee includes the Central Goldfields, Loddon and Mount Alexander shires.
The sessions come as part of the Hooning in Victoria project, launched by the State Government following an increase in reckless driving behaviour which began during the pandemic.
The project involves a range of engagement and research activities to better understand the impacts of hooning in the state and investigate options to enhance and support deterrence of hooning behaviours.
Feedback from the session will help to inform recommendations for consideration by government to deter hooning in Victoria.
The session will run online from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, May 23.
Places in the session are limited, and interested residents can reserve their spot by visiting www.eventbrite.com.au/e/hooning-community-engagement-session-loddon-mallee-region-tickets-528845179167
