With the BFLW finals shortened to a five-team shootout this season, Carisbrook was officially eliminated from finals contention after their defeat to Redan in round 14.

Despite this, the Lady Redbacks will be heavily motivated to finish their 2025 season on a high note, especially considering they have produced some of their best performances of the season against their remaining opponents.

Their opposition on Sunday, East Point, is the same team they registered their highest score of the season against, kicking four goals in the first half during their round nine defeat.

Following that match, the Lady Redbacks end their season at home against Lake Wendouree, a team they severely challenged the last time they met at Carisbrook Recreation Reserve, falling short by only 25 points after goals from Jade Cameron and Olivia Butler.

After being selected for the Ballarat Football League Women’s Team of the Year last season alongside Anika Munn, captain Butler has remained as one of the Lady Redbacks’ standout players, currently the team’s leading goal-kicker and a constant threat in the midfield.

Butler isn’t the only Carisbrook player who’s had a successful season.

Danae Every remains a vital cog in Carisbrook’s defence, named among the best players in nine of the 13 matches she’s played this season.

The 2025 season has also seen the emergence of many talented youngsters at the senior level, with Maddison Smith, Emme Johnson, and Tamika Loone-Grundy all enjoying breakout years.

With both their final games played at home, Carisbrook will have two chances to cap off their season with their first win in front of their home crowd.
