CARISBROOK (40) def TRENTHAM (19)

A dominant second half helped Carisbrook maintain their winning ways, as well as top spot on the ladder, taking a 21-goal win over Trentham.

It was a tight start to proceedings at Carisbrook Recreation Reserve, with the Redbacks scoring seven goals in the opening term, while Trentham could muster five.

But the second quarter was where Carisbrook started to flex their muscle, scoring 12 goals to six to extend their lead to eight goals at the main break.

A further 10 goals to five in the third quarter helped Carisbrook continue to assume control going into the last quarter, before their most dominant quarter of the day saw them score 11 goals, while holding the Saints to just three.

Andrea Schafer continued her good form in front of goal for the Redbacks, scoring on 27 occasions, while Paige McLean added 13.

For Trentham, who are now clinging to their spot in the top eight by just one game, Hayley Bourke and Prue Higgins top-scored with seven goals apiece.
