CARISBROOK 22.15 (147) def DUNOLLY 4.5 (29)
Carisbrook have warmed up for their first final against Trentham by sweeping aside Dunolly by 118 points.
Coming into the game, there was still a slight chance the Eagles could play finals if they were able to perform at their very best, but all thoughts were completely dashed just 25 minutes into the game when Carisbrook piled on six goals to no score to establish a 39-point lead at the first break.
Dunolly were sparked into action, and had a much better second term, kicking two goals, while holding Carisbrook to three, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the Redbacks from extending their lead to 50 points at the main break.
It was clear it was going to be Carisbrook’s day, kicking another five goals to one in the third term to move 78 points clear at the final change.
Eight goals to one in the last term meant that the Redbacks were able to set a marker for the Saints next week, reaffirming their status as the best offensive team in the competition.
Zak Rinaldi finished off an outstanding home and away campaign with another best-on-ground performance, while Anthony Zelencich and Matt Bilton kicked 10 goals between them. Lachlan Edwards, Lewis Rinaldi, Michael Zelencich, Steven Patterson and Anthony were all named in the best.
For Dunolly, Bailey Goodwin, Xavier Ryan, Lachlan Tranter, Mitchell Goodwin, Daniel Trull and Joshua Goodman were all named in their best.
