CARISBROOK (61) def HARCOURT (19)

Carisbrook maintained top spot on the ladder thanks to a dominant 42-goal victory over Harcourt.

A dominant defensive display allowed the Redbacks to control all facets of the game, particularly in the middle two quarters.

A 19-goal to seven opening term gave the Redbacks the initiative, and they continued pushing the pace in the second quarter, scoring 16 goals while holding Harcourt to just three.

The Redbacks’ midcourt was proving too strong, and they doubled down on their 25-goal break in the third quarter by adding a further 17 goals to the Lions’ four to extend the lead to 38 goals by the final change.

The last quarter was more of a struggle, with the Redbacks scoring nine goals and the Lions adding five, but it was job done for the Redbacks as they scored their fifth consecutive win.

Andrea Schafer scored 37 goals, while Paige McLean scored 24 in the Redbacks’ win.

For Harcourt, Kate Blake and Tayla Gale scored nine goals apiece.
