The reigning premiers made quite the statement in round one — they don’t plan to muck around in their hunt for back-to-back flags.

After unfurling their 2022 premiership, Natte Bealiba turned the wick up on the court as they were able to score a 52-goal win over Dunolly.

A 16-goal to four first quarter was just a sign of things to come from the Swans, who were able to extend their lead thanks to another 16-goal quarter, while restricting the Eagles to only six as they took a 32-10 lead at the main break.

In the third quarter, the Swans were even more devastating, scoring 19 goals, while holding the Eagles to just one as they took a 51-11 lead at the final change.

Thankfully for the Eagles, they were able to enjoy a better last quarter, scoring 10 goals, while the Swans scored 22 to eventually take a 73-21 win. New playing-coach Emma Ryan dominated in the goal circle, scoring 57 goals, while Shannae Mills added 16.

For Dunolly, Zoe Aldridge led the way with 15 goals.
