Carisbrook have continued on their winning ways, maintaining top spot on the ladder thanks to a 31-goal victory over Newstead.

The Redbacks won all four quarters én route to extending their unbeaten run to 10 games, although the Kangaroos did give a good effort in defeat despite the gulf in class.

Carisbrook started well, scoring 14 goals to six in the first quarter to take an eight-goal lead into the first change, but it was the second quarter which saw the Redbacks make things comfortable, scoring 13 goals to five to give themselves a 16-goal cushion at the main break.

The Redbacks shot away again in the third quarter, scoring 14 goals to seven to extend their lead to 23 goals at the final change, before another 14 goals in the final quarter to Newstead’s six saw them win with ease.

Andrea Schafer scored 31 goals for Carisbrook, while Paige McLean added 24, while for Newstead, Verity Gartside scored 13 goals and Alex Gilmore added 11.
