Navarre swat Maldon in continued winning form
Navarre’s torrid run of form has continued at the expense of Maldon, locking down the Bombers to 21 goals on their way to a 48-goal victory.

The Grasshoppers carried the momentum from their three-game winning streak straight into the first quarter, applying relentless pressure on the Bombers which caused numerous turnovers and an 18-5 advantage at quarter time.
With three in-form shooters, the Grasshoppers started with Brianna Hyslop and Chloe Frank in the goal circle. The pair delivered with 10 goals for Hyslop and eight for Frank.
Shooter Tayah Doyle made her debut for Maldon’s A grade side alongside defender Chloe Davey and wasted little time making an impression, making four of her five shots in the first term.
The Bombers looked more comfortable in the second quarter, but the Grasshoppers maintained their superiority, jumping out to a 34-12 advantage going into the half time break.
The pairing of Frank and Hyslop continued to be a terrific tandem for Navarre, combining for 16 goals from 20 shots. Doyle once again top-scored for Maldon in the second term, netting four.
After entering the game in the second quarter as goal keeper, Erin Jackson made her presence felt in the other goal circle to start the second half, netting 13 goals to extend Navarre’s margin out to 37 goals at three-quarter time.
Hyslop remained with Jackson in the goal circle for the third, scoring eight of her own while Doyle netted five of the Bombers’ six goals in the term.
The Grasshoppers were unre-lenting in the final quarter, allowing three goals in the last 15 minutes to wrap up their fourth consecutive victory.
Frank rejoined the goal circle alongside Jackson for the final period, with their five and nine goals respectively meaning all three of Navarre’s shooters finished with more than 20 goals.
Doyle scored all of Maldon’s goals in the fourth term, ending with 16 for the game.
