NAVARRE (53) def TALBOT (24)
A dominant second quarter from Navarre saw them join the winners list for the first time this season as they defeated Talbot by 29 goals.
It was a tight affair in the opening quarter as both teams were looking for their first win of the season, as well as their first win in some time — Navarre were riding an 11-game losing streak, while Talbot were seeking a first win since 2019.
Navarre led the way by three goals at the first change, but were able to take complete control in the second as they scored 17 goals, while holding Talbot to just one goal for the quarter. It saw them lead 30-11 at the main break.
Talbot performed better in the third quarter, but it still wasn’t enough to close the gap as Navarre scored 12 goals to the Hawks’ seven.
The Hoppers then ran out the game to take the win, scoring 11 goals to six. Darcy Crawford proved to be a good target under the ring for the Hoppers, scoring 33 goals, while Erin Chisholm added 20.
Dom Roche was the Hawks’ best option under the ring, scoring 20 goals.
