Navarre go down to strong Talbot Hawks
A hard-fought game of netball was on display at the Navarre Recreation Reserve on Saturday, when Talbot made the journey over on the hunt for a back-to-back win.

Talbot looked to replicate their show-stopping 50-goal win over Maldon the weekend prior on Saturday, something the Grass-hoppers were not at all interested in allowing.
A home court advantage did Navarre well, with the side outscoring Talbot in the first and second quarters to lead by a single goal at half time.
While the game could go either side’s way, Talbot dug deep in the third, scoring 11 goals to the home side’s six to put them in good stead for another win.
This tenacity across the court continued into the final quarter where Navarre were able to score only four goals to Talbot’s nine, with the Hawks swooping in on another victory.
Talbot’s pressure was felt across the court for Navarre, with their scoring trio of Erin Jackson, Brianna Hyslop and Chloe Frank missing shots on a number of occasions.
The same was true for Talbot, with scoring team Alicia McMurray and Eleisha Phelps missing a combined 26 goals on the day.
Despite this, they made each goal they scored count in a big way and were well supported across the court by the likes of goal keeper Jess White and Melissa Scott in goal defence.
