NAVARRE (40) def HARCOURT (36)

Navarre hopped back into the top four thanks to a four-goal win over Harcourt, which dents the Lions’ finals aspirations.

The Lions now sit a game behind eighth-placed Maryborough Rovers as a result.

Navarre started the better, with the Hoppers scoring 10 goals to seven in the opening stanza to open up a three-goal lead.

It was a tight, high-scoring affair in the second term, with both teams going goal-for-goal. But eventually, the quarter would end as it started, with the Hoppers still holding on to a three-goal lead.

Harcourt made their move in the third quarter, knowing the prize of a potential entry to the top eight was on the line. They scored 11 goals, while Navarre could only muster eight, to leave scores level at the final change.

But with the Hoppers’ own aspirations on the line, they themselves were able to lift in the last quarter, scoring 11 goals to seven to eventually finish winners in a rollercoaster game.

For Navarre, Darcy Crawford scored 23 goals, while Erin Chisholm added 17.

Tayla Gale scored 11 goals for Harcourt, while Kate Blake added 10.
