Natte Bealiba defeated Carisbrook by 15 goals at Carisbrook Recreation Reserve.
A strong patch in the second quarter helped the Swans take control of the game, and they never looked back from there.
The opening quarter was a tight affair, with neither team able to get away, with the Swans taking a narrow lead after scoring 10 goals to nine. Emma Ryan scored seven goals for the Swans, while Polly Douglas provided three, and for the Redbacks, Andrea Schafer scored six goals and Paige McLean three.
It was the second quarter where the Swans started to shoot clear, and they added 16 goals to seven to lead 26-16 at the main break. Ryan scored 13 goals for the Swans, while Douglas added three, and for Carisbrook, Schafer scored on four occasions and McLean three times.
The third quarter was a high-scoring affair, with the Swans looking to clear away and Carisbrook looking to get back into the game, and a 15-goal to 14 quarter the Swans’ way was the result as Natte led 41-30 at the final change. Ryan scored 14 goals for the Swans, with Douglas adding one, while for the Redbacks, Abbey Nalder scored 10 times, and McLean four times.
However, it was Natte’s day, and they were able to score 15 goals to 11 in the last term to extend the margin to 15 goals. Ryan scored 12 goals to finish with 46 for the day, while Douglas added three more. Nalder scored seven goals for Carisbrook to finish as their leading scorer with 17 goals, while McLean added four to finish with 14 goals.
Natte will now be hoping to cement their status in the top two in A grade netball with a strong performance at home against Harcourt, while Carisbrook will be hoping to bounce back against Trentham.
