Natte Bealiba kicks away late from spirited Avoca
Avoca and Natte Bealiba met at the CHS Broadbent Oval and the Swans won in a convincing manner by 69 points.
Despite only kicking two goals in the first half, Avoca would be very pleased with their third-quarter effort in which they were very competitive against one of the flag favourites.
However, the Swans put their foot down in the final term to show why they are considered to be one of the best teams in the league.
Twenty-nine scoring shots to 10 shows the dominance the Swans had over the Bulldogs. Natte coach Trent Mortlock revelled with six goals while Will Holt finished with four goals for the game.
Mortlock now has 40 goals for the season and is fourth on the goal-kicking table, just 20 goals behind James Regan from Trentham who leads with 60 goals.
Natte has now won their past 17 encounters with Avoca and has defeated them on 80 occasions from the 149 games played since 1945.
Natte’s better players were Bailey Jacobs, Mortlock, Brad Power, Jake Postle, Brayden Mills, and Tate Williams who played his first senior game for the Swans.
Avoca named Tyson Gray and Bryce Howell as their best players along with Byron Wynd, Alex Bowd, Zack Lubeek, and Mitchell Wardlaw, who also made his senior debut for the Bulldogs.
