A local massage therapist and personal trainer accused of raping and sexually assaulting two clients will front court later this year, as more people have come forward since the 62-year-old’s arrest last week.
Michael Allwood appeared at the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court yesterday on two charges of rape and one of sexual assault relating to alleged incidents on January 15 and June 29 this year.
Mr Allwood was arrested by detectives from the Central Victoria Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team last week after a raid at a Majorca Road property and was released on bail to appear in court yesterday.
The court heard that since Mr Allwood’s arrest, a further three people had come forward to lodge compaints against the accused but no further information on the allegations or complaints was provided.
During the hearing on Monday, Magistrate Trieu Huynh granted the prosecution an extension to investigate the information brought forward by the new complainants and extended Mr Allwood’s bail conditions until the next hearing.
Mr Allwood is scheduled to appear before the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court for a committal hearing on November 23.
