Montague participated in the Teen Girls Gi and No-Gi competitions, with three round-robin matches in each competition.

The teenager entered the event with some pedigree at Savage Grappling events, winning two golds back in the March event at Broadmeadows.

Montague started the No-Gi competition on the back foot, losing her first contest on points.

Despite the setback, she recovered quickly, winning her second match by points and grabbing victory in her final match with a 54-second submission to earn the silver medal.

It was a similar tale in the Gi competition, as Montague bounced back from a points loss in her first match with a points victory in her second match and a submission win in her final match to grab another silver medal.

Montague will be joined by other members of Team Lazaros at the Victoria Jiu-Jitsu Championship at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre this weekend.
