The MDCA participated in the round robin tournament across two Sundays, playing two games on Sunday, February 9 and Sunday, February 23 at Kyneton Recreation Reserve.

The shield was contested between teams from the Gisborne District Cricket Association and the Castlemaine District Cricket Association.

While they were unable to grab a victory in their two matches on February 9, losing by six wickets against Gisborne White and eight wickets against Castlemaine, the MDCA was determined to win one of their final two matches.

After losing their final round robin game to Gisborne Green by 61 runs, the MDCA got their just rewards for their efforts in their final match, enacting some revenge on Castlemaine with a 19 run victory.
