A new real estate agency is in town, with Barry Plant expanding its regional presence to Maryborough’s High Street.

The local office is Barry Plant’s sixth in regional Victoria and is also now the fifth real estate office in Maryborough, alongside Maryborough Ballarat Real Estate, Professionals Maryborough, First National Real Estate and Central Goldfields Real Estate.

Operating in the Maryborough and Central Goldfields area for a number of years, Barry Plant Maryborough real estate consultant and senior property manager Lynelle Trickey said it made sense to open a local office.

“I could see an opening for another real estate office in town and we had already been selling properties in the area so it made sense to have a local office,” she said.

“This is something that has come together over the last six months, there’s demand in the local market and it all really fell into place for us — we were in the right place at the right time.”

A born and bred local, Ms Trickey has been in the real estate industry for around five years, spending the last two years with Barry Plant’s Ballarat office.

She said it was exciting to bring the business to Maryborough and has already proven to be beneficial.

“I am excited we’ve got the office set up here, it means we’re able to support the community and our clients better by being closer to home,” she said.

“In the first two weeks we had two walk-in listings so to have the shop front is very beneficial, it’s been great.

“People are able to stick their heads in and have a chat with us whereas previously they couldn’t do that, you’d have to call us in Ballarat.”

Barry Plant Group CEO Nigel O’Neil said the new office in Maryborough was an important step forward for the brand.

“We have really strong offices in the regional centres of Ballarat and Bendigo,” he said.

“This opportunity to take our brand into smaller regional towns and duplicate what we provide in our Melbourne suburban offices is really exciting.”

The Maryborough office is located at 200 High Street and is open from 10 am until 3 pm Monday to Friday, however Lynelle is available by phone on 0498 209 315 and Adam Henderson on 0458 952 493 outside of office hours.
