A 70-year-old Maryborough woman has died in a fatal collision in Dunach on Sunday.
According to police, the vehicle was travelling along the Ballarat-Maryborough Road, before it lost control and crashed into a tree at around 4.15 pm.
The woman was airlifted to The Alfred Hospital in a critical condition with upper and lower body injuries according to Ambulance Victoria, where she died overnight.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined with Moorabool Highway Patrol continuing to investigate.
It marks the ninth life lost this year, which follows the 299 lives lost in 2023, the highest since 2008.
