Maryborough Hospital Community Opening celebration

Community were invited to tour the redeveloped Maryborough hospital on Saturday.


Community members were invited to tour the Maryborough Hospital’s $115 million expansion on Saturday, with Grace La Vella, Aunty Marilyne Nicholls, Dr Judy Lowthian, Aunty Vicki Murray, Martha Haylett, Rachel Wake and Nickola Allan celebrating the facility.

Carisbrook Lions Club’s sausage sizzle didn’t go unappreciated with Elsie, Troy, Evie and Anna Gardiner enjoying a quick lunch.
More than just white walls and corridors, tours of the hospital showed the numerous oases of green throughout.
Following a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, crowds entered the hospital for some speeches.
The community were invited on guided tours of the hospital with Alin Hilder, Jamie and Shannon Crutchley, and Katinka Hilder joining an early group.
After years of construction Member for Ripon Martha Haylett was keen to introduce the $115 million hospital expansion to the community.
