Maryborough sporting clubs have been able to bolster their programs thanks to grants received from the Andrews Labor Government.
The Maryborough VRI Croquet Club and Maryborough Swimming Club were two of seven Ripon sporting clubs that received grants, which will help with schemes such as club operational effectiveness, as well as new uniforms and equipment and training for coaches, officials and volunteers.
The Maryborough Croquet Club received a $1000 grant, while the Maryborough Swimming Club received the maximum $5000.
Member for Ripon Martha Haylett emphasised how important it was for clubs to receive support, with more than $15.5 million invested to clubs since the start of the Sporting Club Grants Program in 2015.
“The Sporting Club Grants Program is giving grassroots sports clubs across our region the support they need to grow their ranks and help more locals of all ages play the sports they love,” she said.
“Victorians love their sport and that’s why it’s important to support our sporting clubs so they can be accessible and inclusive for all members of our community.”
