Started in 1977, the trophy is contested in a three-ball aggregate stableford competition, pitting golf clubs from the Ballarat district and beyond against each other.

A total of 16 teams competed for the prestigious prize, with golfers from Avoca, Beaufort, Ballarat, Bendigo, Buninyong, Creswick, Talbot, Skipton, Port Fairy and Maryborough participating.

After a highly competitive round, it was Port Fairy Golf Club’s Louise Cameron, Tracey Dark and Jennifer Hermann who took home the trophy for the first time after scoring 107 points, stopping Beaufort’s aspirations of a four-peat.

Dark and Hermann also took out the B and C grade individual stableford competition with 36 points, while Helen Pascoe took out A grade with 37 points.

Nearest to the pins were Joan Fraser on the eighth hole, Sharon Treble on the ninth hole, Yvette McLean on the 11th hole and Sally Richardson on the 13th hole.

Helen Pascoe’s 37 points was enough to take out the individual stableford A grade competition.
