The Amphitheatre-Elmhurst side suffered an unfortunate setback when they lost their leading lady Sally Roberts to injury in the first set, having to activate their emergency substitute.

Kate McLoughlin and Rachel O’Halloran took advantage to snare an 8-1 win, while teammates Jasmine King and Ally Ellis weathered a tough challenge to come away with a 9-7 result in their set.

The Maryborough side’s strong form continued into the mixed sets as they switched in their own substitute players for some court time.
