Maldon, Talbot clash tomorrow
The Bill Woodfull Recreation Reserve is the venue for Maldon and Talbot’s Good Friday encounter, and a big crowd is expected to enjoy the warmer weather that’s been on display this past week.
Maldon are coming off a loss to Lexton, while Talbot had a very comfortable victory over the Avoca Bulldogs last Saturday.
The Bombers were still in the match at half time against the Lexton Tigers but were no match for the home team after the main break.
It was a very one sided game at Talbot and the form line might indicate that the Hawks will go into this contest as the favourites to remain undefeated after two games.
The Bombers and the Hawks have had some exciting clashes over the years. The last time they met in 2024 the Bombers won comfortably by 79 points with Brodie Leonard-Shannon kicking four goals, but the big forward has left the Bombers for Mount Pleasant in 2025, and will leave a big hole to replace.
Berry Powell Medallist Damian Wust has remained at the Bombers and will relish the challenge of going up against Jamieson House who dominated the on field contest for the Hawks last Saturday.
Since their last encounter in 2024, the Hawks have recruited strongly in the off season and will be confident of victory at the home of the Bombers.
